Why attend Sunday School?

The purpose of Sunday School is to make disciples of Christ through small group study of the Bible.  By learning the Word and the foundations of our faith, our lives are changed so that we may change the lives of others with the hope of Jesus Christ. Bible study materials are provided by the church to those who attend Sunday School.  Whether you are searching for answers to your questions about God and His purpose in your life, a new Christian or a life long believer, there is a place for you in Sunday School at FBCS.  Sunday School  begins each Sunday Morning at 9:45 am with classes for all age groups and stages of life. Visitors to First Baptist Church of Shallotte may visit our Welcome Center upon arrival and one of our greeters will be able to direct you  to an appropriate class. 

Children’s Classes   

Children are very important at FBCS.  We understand the importance of including them in our learning and worship of Jesus Christ.  Even the youngest child can learn of the love of Jesus.  Children enjoy weekly lessons from the Bible and fun activities led by our devoted Sunday School teachers.  Our Children’s classes are Nursery, Preschool, Kindergarten&1st Grade, Second Grade, and   3rd -5th grades.  All of our children’s classes are located downstairs in our education wing.

Youth Classes

Middle School and High School classes meet upstairs in our education wing.  Middle School class is for grades 6-8 and High School is grades 9-12.  Both classes use the Lifeway  “Known” series which uses the student strategy to help students “know God, own their faith and make their faith known.”

Adult Classes

Intermediate Class
Building relationships with each other during Bible Study is an emphasis of this class.    Great fellowship!

Median Adult Couples Class
Diverse group with an emphasis of organized Care Groups providing assistance to those in need of a caring touch. 

Couples & Singles, Too
Explore the Bible in a small group setting for married couples and singles.

Pairs & Spares
This class for couples and singles invites you to join them for fellowship and Bible Study. Come to meet new friends and develop a sense of belonging.

Young Married Couples
Enjoy the fellowship of other young married couples as you both increase your Bible knowledge and understanding.

Young Adult
If you are just out of high school, in college, working or even raising children, this class offers lively discussion during Bible Study. 

Senior Adult Classes

Our Senior Adult Classes all meet in the downstairs wing of our education building. Senior Men meet together each Sunday morning for prayer before their class begins. Ladies can choose between the Rachel’s Daughter’s class and the Young at Heart Class.  All Senior Adult Classes use the Lifeway series “LifeVENTURES”.  This series “challenges a generation already full of life’s experiences to discover new ones in service to God and to pass on to younger
generations the legacy of their faith”.
